Racing a Harley-Davidson Bagger! What Is It Like? The First Ever Bagger Racing League.

Grand Teton Harley-Davidson was at Utah Motorsports Campus recently providing support for Arnie Wells as he participates in his first ever Bagger Racing League race. It was a great event and we were thrilled to assist Arnie in a 5th place finish. A spectacular result from someone who has never raced on a track before.

Day one started on Friday were the crew worked hard to get both Arnie's bikes ready for tech inspection while Arnie put in the hours in the classroom to learn the rules of the track. The bikes breezed through tech inspection and were cleared to race.

Saturday was all about practice and qualifying and Arnie put in several laps on both the Dyna and the Street Glide. Towards the end of the day the clutch on the Dyna started to go and ultimately Arnie felt more comfortable on the Street Glide and decided not to race the Dyna. The crew made some minor modifications to the bagger including a skid plate from Performance Machine and some new breaks from Beringer. Arnie qualified in the 7th spot for the final.

Sunday was race day but not before a few more practice laps to get the bike dialed. Every lap Arnie was shaving off more and more time. The final was the first time the bikes lined up for an official start. At launch Arnie quickly moved up to 5th where he stayed for the remainder of the race, distancing him self from the bikes behind.

Everyone at Grand Teton Harley are very proud of Arnie and can't wait for the next race.
