Moscow 1963 archive footage

Archival footage shot by an Italian filmmaker while visiting the USSR in October 1963.

It contains stock footage of Moscow, at that time the capital city of the USSR and today the capital city of Russia:

0:00 to 8:17: Red Square (the Historical Museum is in scaffolding, GUM, Saint Basil's Cathedral, Mausoleum, Kremlin Wall Necropolis)
2:04: Kremlin (Ivan the Great Bell Tower, the Tsar Bell, the Kremlin Presidium, Building 14 which was demolished in 2016)
2:26: view on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge from Vasilyevskiy Descent Square
2:31: Hotel Pekin ('Beijing') where they could have stayed (Triumfalnaya Square, Gorky Street)
2:33: Lenin Stadium (Luzhniki) and qualifying football match of 1/8 finals Euro-1964, USSR vs. Italy on October 13th 1963; USSR won 2-0 in that match with more than 102 thousand spectators on the tribune and later in November, having played a 1-1 draw in the 2nd leg match in Italy, qualifying to quarter finals
3:24: Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Satire Theatre, Lenin Military-Political Academy on Triumfalnaya Square (opposite Pekin Hotel; that's why there are a lot of military uniforms in the shots);
4:12 They walked along the Garden Ring and watched one of seven Stalinist skyscrapers in Moscow - the Kudrinskaya Square Building.
4:54: shots opposite the house where Tchaikovsky lived in 1872-73 (nowadays, it has been restored and has been turned into the Museum Center "Tchaikovsky in Moscow")
5:06: Hotel Ukraina
5:43: Moscow State University
6:21: Church of Saint Nicholas in Khamovniki (consecrated in 1682) with Komsomolsky prospekt, 5 - opposite the church
7:27: Moskva swimming pool
7:53: view on the Kremlin from Sofiyskaya embankment
8:47: tourists near the old building of the Central Puppets Theatre, demolished in 1970, near their hotel on Triumfalnaya Square, Gorky Street, 38; Shoeshine was a monopoly job till almost 2010s of the Assyrian people who appeared in Moscow in 1910-20s to save themselves from the massacres in the Ottoman Empire during and after World War I
8:59: Mayakovsky Monument (camera's moving to the left)
9:06: view from Triumfalnaya Square on the famous Kolbasy ('Sausage') shop on Gorky Street; (You can't imagine what tasty smell was around there even in 1990s!) On the opposite of it: Tchaikovsky Concert Hall
9:16: Sheremetyevo International Airport
9:43: Tu-104А SSSR-42464 aircraft. It flew from 1960 to 1979 on Moscow-Leningrad line and was dismissed in 1990.
