**The Bird and the Ant**

Once upon a time, there was a little ant and a bird who lived in the same big, green forest. Every day, the ant worked hard, carrying crumbs and seeds back to his home. He was very busy, always preparing for the future.

One sunny day, the bird saw the ant struggling with a heavy piece of food. The bird, who loved to sing and play, fluttered down and chirped, "Why do you work so hard, little ant? Why don’t you take a break and enjoy the sunshine like me?"

The ant looked up and said, "I’m saving food for the winter. It’s important to work now, so I’ll have enough to eat when it gets cold."

The bird laughed, "Oh, winter is far away! Come, join me, and let’s sing and dance! You work too much!"

The ant smiled but continued to carry his food back to his home. "Maybe you’re right," the ant said, "but I know the cold days are coming, and I need to prepare."

The bird flew off, singing and having fun in the warm sun. Days turned into weeks, and the weather started to change. The leaves turned brown, and the air became chilly. Soon, winter arrived, and food became scarce in the forest.

One cold day, the bird found himself hungry and cold. He searched and searched, but there was no food left to find. Just then, he saw the little ant carrying food into his cozy home. The bird flew over and asked, "Dear ant, could you share some of your food? I didn’t prepare for the winter, and now I’m hungry and cold."

The ant smiled warmly and said, "Of course, bird. I worked hard because I knew winter would come. You should have prepared too, but I’ll share what I have."

The bird thanked the ant and promised to work harder next year. From that day on, the bird and the ant became great friends. The bird learned the importance of preparing for the future, and the ant learned that sometimes it’s good to take a little time to enjoy life.

**Moral of the story:** It's important to work hard and prepare for the future, but it's also important to enjoy life along the way. Balance is key!
