The History of Microsoft -- The Charles Simonyi Story (Part 1 of 2)
Meet software visionary, business executive, and space tourist Charles Simonyi. Simonyi pioneered the development of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. This documentary begins with Simonyi's youth in Hungary in the 1960s, where he first learned to program on hand-me-down Soviet computers, and follows him on to Xerox Palo Alto Research Center where he invented Bravo, the first WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) text editor. It also follows him into the exciting world of Microsoft in the 1980s. Make sure to check out Part Two of The History of Microsoft with Charles Simonyi.
