In Ephesians 4:7-16, Paul explains that Jesus has given us spiritual gifts according to His grace for the upbuilding of the Church. He gave us the gifts of prophecy, service, teaching, leadership, generosity, mercy, apostleship, evangelism, healing, administration, tongues, wisdom, knowledge and faith. These gifts are not natural talents or learned abilities, but a divinely inspired ability given by the Holy Spirit for the service of the Church and the glorification of Christ. Unity in the Church does not require uniformity, but rather unity with diversity. We must exercise our gifts in love to build up the body of Christ through service.
