Writing unit tests and other automated test cases has become an important part of software development. Frameworks like jUnit, nUnit and cypress as well as concepts like Test-Driven-Development (TDD) and Behavioral-Driven-Development (BDD) are widely used.

But existence of such automated tests is not enough. In an agile software development where requirements constantly change test cases have to be easily understandable, maintainable and changeable.

There are two key rules you should follow to avoid that your good intentions are creating the maintenance hell of tomorrow.
