FAREWELL OF SLAVIANKA / ПРОЩАНИЕ СЛАВЯНКИ (INSTRUMENTAL)

Farewell of Slavianka is a Russian patriotic song, composed by Vasily Agapin, in honour of Slavic women accompanying their husbands in the First Balkan War. It was written in 1912, and rewritten a number of times, receiving official lyrics that were accepted by the Soviet leadership in 1967.

The song was also used unofficially as the anthem of the White Army of Admiral Kolchak during the Russian Civil War, and was played in Red Square during the October Revolution Parade of 1941, after which soldiers went straight to the battlefield during the Battle of Moscow.

This performance of the song was by the United States Coast Guard Band in 2006.

Thanks for watching, and have a good day!
