Washington Capitals video coach Emily Engel-Natzke opens up about coaching in the NHL

Washington Capitals video coach Emily Engel-Natzke didn't think she would one day be on the coaching staff of a team in the NHL. From wanting to be a veterinarian growing up to studying film in college, her journey to coaching at the top level of professional men's hockey wasn't as linear as you might expect. Engel-Natzke shares her coaching journey with us in an exclusive one-on-one interview.

As the first female on an NHL team's coaching staff, Emily Engel-Natzke made headlines just from accepting a job offer. She further made history last March when the Washington Capitals took on the Seattle Kraken at Capital One Arena. This game marked the first NHL matchup between two female NHL coaches, the Capitals' Emily Engel-Natzke and the Kraken's Jessica Campbell.

Emily Engel-Natzke opened up about the day-to-day of a video coach, the journey it took to get there, and the inspiring moments she's experienced along the way.
