The food on our plates is the collective work of 2 billion people working in a global network: The food industry. The people in the network pass along information about price, nutrition, quality from the seed to the factory to the store shelf. What about the most critical information of the 21st century – Climate impact?

The global food network is missing a piece: Climate transparency across the supply chain. If the food industry wants to take ownership of its greenhouse gas emissions (a third of the world's total emissions), 2 billion people need to exchange climate performance information seamlessly and automatically. In his TEDx talk, David Bryngelsson discusses how climate transparency in food supply chains could revolutionize the food industry and our choices. His mission is to change how the global food industry thinks about food and climate by combining his business acumen with a scientific understanding of climate change and food production. He has a Ph.D. and previously worked as a researcher on climate change mitigation at Chalmers University of Technology.
