Nirvana - About a Girl (Early Version) [Lyrics]

Another early demo from Kurt of a song written for his, then girlfriend, Tracy Marander. "Why don't you write a song about me?", she asked. So he did. And this is it in its first incarnation with its original lyrics recorded during the summer of 1988 in Seattle.

from the bootleg "Outcesticide IV: Rape of the Vaults"

Lyrics

I do
Don't pin a note to me
I do, promise to agree
I do, live in comfort field
I do, wonder why I'm here

And if you say I'm right
You'll hang me out to dry
But I can't see you every night
Free

I do

Don't wash my piece of gain
I do, without all my friends
I do, have a permanent youth
I do, kissing you with blue

And if you say I'm right
I'll take you out to dry
But I can't see you every night
Free

I do, I do, I do

Don't give a no to me
I do, promise to agree
I do, live in comfort field
I do, wonder why I'm here

And if you say it right
I'll hang you out to dry
But I can't see you every night
Free
But I can't see you every night
Free

I do, I do, I do, I do
