Playing Scales Better on the Piano - Music Performance
This music performance lesson explores the essentials required in the delivery of scales and arpeggios then explains the finer points that can be applied in scales and arpeggios in order to generate superb technical control and musical sensitivity. Beyond the accurate delivery of notes, rhythm and fingering, we consider the use of tone, dynamics and articulation. We also consider how to achieve shape through dynamic control, how to play one hand louder than the other, how to play legato in one hand and staccato in the other, as well as other techniques that can be honed through scale and arpeggio playing.
