The genesis for the project came after a disappointing Google search for the 10 most beautiful streets in London. What did I find? Over a dozen blogs listing a bunch of unconvincing and mostly unimpressive "Instagrammable" streets from various tourists who simply don't know the city like a local does. Having lived and breathed London for 10 years across multiple bases (flats, jobs and... well, ex-girlfriends' flats) I feel a responsibility to show the world where the beauty really lies in the UK's capital.

The plan is as follows: upload 100 or more walks of streets which I feel belong on the list in no particular order. After this comes the challenge where I assemble them in order and present the list to the world.

Having sunk some serious hours in already, I have a shortlist of just over 100 streets for consideration. I must stress, if you have suggestions for streets you'd like to see then please discuss in the comments below. I respond to almost all comments! I will take likes/dislikes as a form of feedback as well, of course. Plus if you have friends and family who love London, by all means share the videos! I could use all the feedback I can get. :)

Fleet Street lies in the westernmost part of the City of London. As a continuation of The Strand to the west, it links up to Ludgate Circus to the east.

Named after the River Fleet, London's largest subterranean river, the street is synonymous with the British national press who, up until the late 20th century, were largely based here.

There is original surviving architecture predating the Great Fire of 1666 on the street. At 1:16 we see Prince Henry's Room, 17 Fleet Street. The site was once owned by the Templars, but was rebuilt in 1610 as a tavern called Prince's Arms and features in the writings of Samuel Pepys who was born on Salisbury Court just off Fleet Street.

The street is an inspiration for the Victorian character Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street, as well as being featured in a number of Charles Dickens novels.
