Mastering Fields in Cavalry's Forge Dynamics
In this tutorial, I’m excited to take your physics simulations to the next level by exploring Fields and Behaviors within the Forge Dynamics system in Cavalry. If you’ve ever wanted more granular control over how your objects move—like creating swirling vortexes or directing shapes with precision. I’ll show you how to start using Direction, Vortex, and Attractor fields to create truly dynamic, high-end motion design.
We’ll spend a good portion of the video looking at how to use the Index Context and Shape ID nodes to apply physics to specific objects within a duplicator, which is a common challenge when building complex scenes. I’ll also walk you through setting up a "text container" so your shapes can interact with typography, including tips on choosing the right collision shapes to balance accuracy and performance. By the end, you'll have the skills to build intricate, field-driven simulations that feel both organic and art-directed.
