The heel pop is not a jump in the traditional sense. It is similar to an ollie on a skateboard or a bunny hop on a bicycle.

Set up your heel pop with your head up, looking 10 feet in front. Arms in front, bent at the elbow. Knees bent with shins leaning into the tongue of the skates. Further bend knees so knees are over toes. Weight is heavy in the front half of foot. Rise up by engaging core, shrugging shoulders and straightening knees. Simultaneously transfer weight from toes to heels pushing skates infant of our body until your calf hits the back of you cuff. Toes lift to top of skate.
