Standby to Gybe... ready.... gybe oh... These are the instructions to use to communicate in the boat. Do not confuse gybing with tacking. On the gybe the bow turns away from the wind and as the rig is under load there is ample opportunity for a swim if you do not move your weight quickly. A big safety hazard when gybing is the boom hitting your head. As the rig is under load and the sail released, the boom can travel a long way and quickly so BEWARE of the boom
