OCS PT routine- The Fartlek Run

The Fartlek run is a common PT routine while at OCS and a routine you must implement during your OCS training regime. While technically "the fartlek" means run fast and then run at a slower pace, at OCS, it is more like run fast and then stop and do an exercise. Your speed will be largely dependent on the Sgt Instructor that is in charge of your squad but typically, it is about an 8:00 mile pace. While this may not seem terribly fast, it becomes a tough pace to handle after executing exercises at the different stations. I also recommend to do this on a treadmill and follow the advice I left on the last slide. 4-5 mile should be your typical fartlek mileage. Let me know if you have any questions.
