Most founders assume that doubling their team size means doubling their output, but the math behind scaling a company tells a completely different story.
When you’re a lean, 5-person company, there’s a certain amount of highly efficient work you can crush. But when you scale up to a 50-person company, you don’t magically start doing 10 times as much work. In reality, most 50-person operations only manage about 3 times the output of a 5-person team. As headcount aggressively increases, organizational drag sets in, and per-capita productivity plummets. Bigger isn't always faster.
