Deus Ex has an amount of player agency that's only ever been matched by Prey (2016) in my book. For that reason, I decided to do two playthroughs consecutively, one almost entirely non-lethal, and another that was needlessly lethal any time that killing people would be even slightly convenient. What I realized is that whether you're going lethal or non-lethal, there's a huge variety of gameplay scenarios and tactics you'll need to use to progress smoothly. A lot of games can get pretty repetitive if you're going perfect stealth or entirely non-lethal, but Deus Ex has almost as many non-lethal options as it has lethal options, and you'll need to use all of them in both combat and stealth to progress.

Since I've got family over for Thanksgiving, it took me a bit longer than usual to get this one out, but I got a lot of time to work on the Metal Gear Solid 2 Essay. Still can't put an ETA on it, but it's going smoothly.
