Rising rapper Jap5 discussed the harsh reality of being charged with murder in connection to a case involving a Rollin 60s gang member, revealing he is currently facing a “double life” sentence. The artist, who gained traction with hits like “Trey Six” amassing over 8 million Spotify streams, described the charges and the arrest as a crushing setback at a critical point in his career.

Jap5 explained that under California’s three strikes law, he is confronting two consecutive life sentences: one for the murder charge, and another triggered by prior felony convictions. He recalled being 24 years old with a $10.2 million bail he couldn’t afford, essentially dooming him to remain behind bars. Despite a slim 20% chance of beating the charges, Jap5 reflected on the devastating impact this has had on his life and music ambitions.
