The story of the Eighty Years' War, the Dutch Revolt against their Lord, the King of Spain.

During the middle ages, the 17 independent States of the Netherlands were ruled by the Lord of the Netherlands.

When the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V resigned his office in 1555, his son King Felipe II took over from him.

He wanted to unite the independent States into one country and used the inquisition to get rid of the Protestant.

The Dutch resisted and a revolt was brewing...
