15年前、ふとしたきっかけで訪れたネパールで出会ったチベット難民。彼らの心には、祖国の文化や仏教の精神が今もなお深く息づいており、他者と共感し合い前向きに生きる、高い精神性があると岩佐氏は語ります。敗戦後、経済発展を遂げて豊かになるにつれ大切なものを失ってしまった日本人と、真の意味で「生きる」ため、祖国を去った難民たち。岩佐氏は、両者が背負う「国破れる」という共通項に着眼し、幸せを感じること、希望を持って生きることの意味を再確認していきます。
