Folks also, instead of actual gravel, add perlite to the stucco as it's much lighter, or just use Diason stucco as it has crushed corks in it that have the same appearance at one-tenth the weight as gravel or crushed rocks.
Plus, either method would eliminate the problem of the gravel sinking to the bottom of the bucket.
