Today, I saw two choices on the same path—
an escalator and a staircase.

The escalator was full.
People standing, moving forward without effort, carried by the system.

The stairs were open.
Fewer people, more effort—but every step was a conscious move forward.

It made me pause.

In our careers, how often do we choose the escalator?
The predefined path. The comfort of following. The safety of “this is how it’s done.”

And how often do we choose the stairs?
Where progress depends on our own effort, decisions, and resilience.

The escalator gives you movement.
The stairs give you growth.

Neither is wrong—
but they lead to very different versions of you.

The real question is:
Are you being carried… or are you climbing?
