The 1812 Coehorn Mortar Overture

Happy 4th of July. I took footage from firing my replica Civil War Coehorn Mortar, and I sync'd it to the 1812 Overture. This is a black powder Muzzle Loading Mortar. It fires a soda can filled with concrete. Kinda silly, but it was fun making the video. Hope you enjoy it. The music is from The Minnesota Orchestra, University of Minnesota Brass Band. The Coehorn is an early development in Mortar Evolution. In 1701 Baron van Coehoorn, a Dutch Artillery officer, first demonstrated his idea of a small portable Mortar that soldiers could carry on a battle field to make shorter range more precise strikes.
