TURKISH MEAT MASTERS - Cağ kebab + ADANA Kebab + KONYA Specialities & More 🇹🇷

The Turkish food series has begun!

Turkish street food, iconic Turkish restaurants, and food from all over Turkey. That’s not only what this whole series is about, but today’s Istanbul video as well.

I started off the only way I wanted to for my first time in a new country, in the market. After exploring the market, Ugur and I got our appetites going with a little tea from vendors who have one of the most unique locations I have ever seen.

Then we headed off to start eating! What better than a Gaziantep breakfast soup called Beyran. This is a hearty soup that was perfect for a super cold and rainy day in Istanbul. Of course just right outside of the Beyran stall we had someone making fresh Ciğer Kavurma durums. Fragrant and sweet lambs liver wrapped in lavash bread and topped the Turkish way.

Now for what has been called the best lamb in Istanbul. The owner and his family from Konya have really built an establishment here. One of the most famous spots in all of Istanbul and for good reason. All you need to know, is this is the place you must go to eat the lamb.

The owner of the Lamb spot told us we couldn’t go anywhere else, but Safa next for some sweets. This place is like a Willy Wonka Factory for Middle Eastern sweets. Baklava, Kunefe, Turkish Churros, and more.

We kept it in the neighborhood for some more meat. Another one of the most famous spots in all of Istanbul, but this time for the Cağ kebab. A horizontal rotating kebab that dates back 4000 years.

We took a break from the meat and headed for some freshly baked bread topped with various goodies. In Turkey, it is known as Pide. With various types all over Turkey, this is a good ole place. With two brothers from the Black Sea Region keeping it traditional and simple.

After touring the Grand Bazaar, just outside it an enthusiastic master cranking out hundreds of Kokorec. A traditional dish that used to have all types of Offal and sweetbreads, but now is just more belly fat than anything. The perfect drunk food at early mornings, but it’s actually so good you can just eat this any time of day.

Finally, a doner shop grilling up various types, but you can’t talk doner without talking about the best: Adana. This place really does a good job and no matter where you go, it would be a shame not to get a good ole Adana kebab.

After there was no more room in my stomach, I needed to relax the only way I know how to in Turkey with some tea and Hookah.
