Boston City Council candidate José Ruiz on Michelle Wu, police funding
Former Mayor Marty Walsh has thrown his support behind retired Boston Police Officer José Ruiz in the race for Boston City Council’s 5th district seat. Ruiz recently retired after nearly three decades on the force. Next month, he’ll face off against former City Hall aide Enrique Pepén, who got the endorsement of his former boss, Mayor Michelle Wu. Ruiz sat down with Abdallah Fayyad to discuss his campaign.
