Chipotle Blind adventure with my guide dog! First time to dine here alone!
It is always challenging every time I step out on my own since I am 100% completely blind, but I never allow my fears or obstacles to keep me from enjoying this beautiful life!
When you have eyesight, there are so many things you take for granted that people with blindness have to consider when going to a restaurant like chipotle, such as finding the door, finding the line, finding the counter, knowing when it is your turn to order, getting assistance to carry your tray/food to your table, getting assistance filling your drink at the soda fountain, learning where the trashcan is to throw away your food when you’re done and putting the tray away, then finding the door to exit to leave.
On this particular adventure, I had to self talk myself into stepping out with Arabella because, like the things I just mentioned above, it can be overwhelming and exhausting just thinking about everything I have to do to just get to enjoy a lovely lunch. But you know what? As you will see/hear through this video, I am so extremely happy I didn’t allow my fears to win! Through my challenges, I met lovely people who gave me wonderful assistance, I had a delicious lunch, beautiful weather to bask in as I ate on the patio, sweet company from my beautiful guide dog, met two of my subscribers who noticed me while I was there, and I gained a whole lot more confidence!
Sometimes I think we all can overthink our challenges, we focus on what could go wrong versus what could go right. Hopefully through my adventure with Arabella I can inspire many of you to take a step out of your comfort zone, cast your fears and worries aside, and find more confidence to do things you may have been afraid to do.
When you start looking at your challenges with a positive perspective and an I can do attitude, you may be surprised with all the beautiful things you can achieve!
PS. The kind young gentleman in this video who approached me on the patio who was one of my subscribers, I unfortunately misunderstood/miss heard his name in the moment. After listening back to the video, I realized his name was Blaine? LOL, Blaine, if you are reading this, I’m so very sorry I heard your name wrong. I think in the moment I was multitasking... trying to blindly film while trying to listen for the sound of yours and Danny’s voice to capture you in frame, while trying to ignore outside music and traffic noise. You and Danny truly made my day! thank you for approaching me and encouraging me.Hopefully I will have the pleasure of running into you guys around town again in the future. 💛
