Time for some Viking Metal from Finland with Ensiferum and it was the first band I heard about in this genre back in 2001. Indeed, I was aware of Windir and Bathory but this time the sound was more polish, better production, stellar performance on vocals and guitar especially. I was suddenly in love with this new band. Their first two albums were with Jari Mäenpäa on guitar, vocals and I think its their 2 best records. Yes Victory Songs is a great album as well but vocally and on a guitar point of view, Jari did an outstanding job back then.

This track is the title one from the 2004 release "Iron". This is a joyful epic song with a burst of energy. I can tell you that in a live context, you can't get better to cheer up the crowd. When you talk about excellent songwriting, tasty melodies, very good harsh vocal and absolutely stunning melodic guitar solo that blends perfectly into a song, this is it. There's nothing more to say, this is probably my favorite Ensiferum record because of the diversity of it, the epic side, the great acoustic guitar parts, the beautiful vocals and the melodies that are just mindblowing.
