The Noisy Beast UNLEASHED! My Vantage GT8 on the Nurburgring

It's time for some noise at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with my Aston Martin GT8! It's one of the most involving drivers' cars ever, but I've never previously taken this Shmeemobile around the Green Hell and it's time to fix that. The result, possibly the most fun laps I've ever had!

The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is a car that on paper makes little sense, as I've frequently said before because it's expensive, wears a carbon body despite not being that light, features a noisy V8 but isn't really 'that' fast, but yet to drive it is an absolute dream. The old school feel combined with a thunderous naturally aspirated engine and titanium exhaust, plus a heavy and hard-working manual gearbox and steering; it's a great recipe to enjoy the drive.

Although my car has previously been taken for a lap of the Nürburgring with Joe Achilles at the wheel, joined by Tim Morley, Apex Taxi driver, I have never actually taken it around myself and of course that needs to be changed. This summer I have brought nearly all of the Shmeemobiles for a run at the Ring including the Senna, Ford GT, 675LT, SLS Black Series, GT R Pro and BMW M8, but now it's the GT8's turn!

With enough time for two laps during Touristenfahrten, it's safe to say that not much else puts the same smile on the face as this does. There's simply nothing out there quite like it, and the experience is right up there with my favourite laps I've driven!
