Marilyn Monroe traveled to Korea in February 1954 to entertain American troops. Over the course of four days, she performed a quickly put-together play titled Anything Goes in front of an audience of over 100,000 troops.

The tour also provided an opportunity for the movie star to overcome stage fright. "The nicest thing that ever happened to me," she said of her trip to Korea. In my heart, I've never felt like a celebrity before. It felt great to look down and have someone smiling at me."

In one show where the start was delayed the troops got frustrated and threatened to riot so the opening acts had to be canceled to get her onto the stage sooner. The crowd adored her and thoroughly enjoyed her presence. In her baggy army outfit, she looked amazing.
