More than 1.5 million lethal fentanyl doses seized in Seattle drug trafficking bust

Local and Federal law enforcement agencies have dismantled what they describe as the largest drug trafficking operation in the Seattle area in recent memory.

More than a dozen individuals accused of exploiting vulnerable communities are now in custody following a multi-state investigation by local and federal agencies.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced the takedown of two interrelated drug rings after a wiretap investigation led to the indictment of 14 people.

"In this case, we seized over 1.5 million lethal doses of fentanyl," said David F. Reames, Special Agent in Charge with DEA Seattle. "That's enough fentanyl to kill everyone in Seattle twice."
