What do you think about when you see a glass bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup on a table? If you’re like most people, you probably don’t pay very close attention to it. From a 17th-century fish sauce, ketchup evolved into a patent medicine. Now sit back and watch to the end of this video as I show you the full history and Evolution of Heinz Ketchup Bottles.

The history and Evolution of Heinz Ketchup Bottles

1880 - the first Heinz Ketchup Bottle was made. One of the first Heinz Ketchup bottles this bottle is made in the signature clear glass.

1887 - the company came up with a new Heinz Ketchup Bottle. This bottle is still made in the signature clear glass.

February 11th, 1968 - Heinz Ketchup Packets were invented. Designed to sell even more ketchup these portable ketchup packets started appearing everywhere in America.

1970 - Heinz Ketchup Keg O' Ketchup Bottle. This bottle is almost exactly the same as the iconic bottle of 1906 but is a 32 ounce bottle instead of 20 ounce bottle.

1983 - Heinz Ketchup Squeeze Bottle. The plastic squeeze bottle was developed so kids could pour ketchup on their own and thus using more and buying more bottles.

1990 - Heinz Ketchup Bottles Go Green. The new ketchup bottles are now made of environmental safe products the "57" remains however, the new plastic shape bottle is in place.

2002 - Heinz Ketchup is Upside Down.

2009 - Heinz Gets Rid of Pickles. The packaging remains for plastic bottles but the pickle is gone in 57. Now there is a tomato and the words "Grown Not Made", This is their new slogan.

2010 - the company introduced Heinz Ketchup Dip and Squeese Packets. The Dip and Squeeze packets are designed to be no mess and are double purposed.
