Alexander Romanov of the Montreal Canadiens is officially set to signing his contract with the Habs, and will burn the first year in the process. He will be able to join the Habs for phase 3 and 4 practices, but unfortunately he won't be able to play against the Pittsburgh Penguins in their play-in series, and subsequent 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs run, should the Canadiens win.

This news also affects the Minnesota Wild and New York Islanders, as two of their top NHL prospects, Kirill Kaprizov and Ilya Sorokin respectively, will also be eligible to sign contracts for 2019-2020, burning off their first years.
