This aircraft entered service just one day before my flight, and I couldn’t resist booking a round trip from Zurich to Düsseldorf to see what all the hype is about. On the way there, I’m seated in Economy Class; on the way back, I test the brand-new SWISS Senses Business Class.

From takeoff to touchdown, I’ll show you how the new cabin feels, how the service compares, and what it’s like to be among the first passengers to experience SWISS’s most ambitious product upgrade in years. Along the way, we’ll also take a first look at the future of Swiss luxury travel — the upcoming First Class Grand Suite, launching in 2026.

About SWISS:
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is Switzerland’s national carrier, headquartered at Zurich Airport and part of the Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance. It was founded in 2002 from the remnants of the bankrupt Swissair, using Crossair as its legal base. SWISS became fully owned by Lufthansa in 2007 but continues to operate under its own brand. The airline flies to over 110 destinations worldwide, with Zurich and Geneva as hubs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, SWISS faced major financial losses but later achieved record profits in 2023. The company focuses on sustainability, fleet modernization, and maintaining Swiss quality and reliability.

About the A350:
The Airbus A350 is a twin-engine, long-haul widebody built by Airbus. It uses extensive carbon-fiber composites in the fuselage and wings, competes with Boeing’s 787 and 777X, and succeeds the A340. The jet has two high-bypass turbofans and a two-pilot glass cockpit. First flight: 14 June 2013 in Toulouse. Qatar Airways took the first A350-900 in December 2014 and the first A350-1000 in February 2018. By 30 September 2025, 675 of 1,445 ordered had been delivered. The design evolved into the A350 XWB with a wider cabin, composite wings, low noise, and strong fuel efficiency, later gaining larger sharklets and a lighter, wider “New Production Standard.”
