Grey's Anatomy 21x15: Jules Roasts Winston in the OR & A Window Washer Crashes

In Grey's Anatomy Season 21 Episode 15, Winston demonstrates his true surgical skills as he and his new protégé, Jules, work on window washer Beau.

The most memorable element of this plot isn't the hunky window washer that smashes through the window due to some unmanageable wind, which is sort of crazy in a very Grey's Anatomy way. He not only intubates his patient while Beau is still securely fastened in his harness, but he also removes a potentially lethal clot from Beau's carotid artery with ease, as if he's done it a thousand times.

Additionally, he occasionally acts like a dummy. When Beau's wife enters, he believes she is his mother, but she is not. It's really uncomfortable! However, Jules doesn't think twice about making fun of him during surgery, which leads to the two of them talking about age disparities and strange romantic pairings. Jules firmly believes that "the heart wants what the heart wants." I think we should keep this in mind for later!

The mentee and mentor are becoming good friends, and Winston confesses to having a severe phobia of heights after surgery, while Beau appears to be recovering. Jules makes him accompany her to the roof since she will not tolerate this. Winston is hesitant, as one should always be hesitant when being asked to relocate, but he gives in quite quickly. I could see right away where this was headed when I noticed Jules' hair was down. As she tells about how she used to spend her college days hanging out on the university bell tower (where she played the carillon) and how it helped her gain perspective and decompress, her hair is down, and they are enjoying the beautiful view of Seattle. Additionally, "observe what you miss when you never take in the view," and Winston is obviously staring at her at the same time.

When he offers her his jacket after she claims she's cold, it's already clear that feelings are developing. We'll see what it takes for Winston to act on those sentiments, though, given how straitlaced he is. The fact that Webber, who has been attempting to pair his ex-son-in-law with his neighbor (Webber has always been a reliable wingman), sees those sentiments when he sees the two returning from the roof doesn't help either. Although he cautions Winston to use caution, he doesn't seem to be opposed to the couple in general. What are our thoughts? Is Winston Ndugu going to follow the venerable Grey Sloan custom of making out with your intern? A precedent exists! It has twenty-one seasons!
