We Proved the Dealer Wrong (Land Rover No Start Diagnosis)

This Land Rover came in with a no start condition. The engine would crank, but it wouldn’t fire up. The dealer had already diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump control module, but we always run our own tests just to be sure.

We checked power at the fuel pump and found none. The fuel pump module had power, and the body control module was doing its job by telling it to turn on. The problem turned out to be the powertrain controller, the main engine computer, which wasn’t sending the signal needed to activate the fuel pump module.

By studying the wiring diagram and reading the pulse signal, we traced exactly where the problem was and proved the dealership’s diagnosis wrong. There’s nothing better than the rush you get when you solve something that takes real brain power.
