How I rebuild a car engine cylinder head. Blown head gasket, burnt valve, etc. Pt 1 of 3 - REMIX

Head Rebuild: 4 - 6 hours ($200 / $450 / $2,300)

WARNING: The cam cover and cylinder head are a machined pair and one can not be replaced without the other. Do NOT damage the cam cover, then try to find another cam cover to replace the one you damaged. Get another head with it's matching cover.

This video explains the process that I take when preparing to rebuild the head.

This video will show you how to rebuild a car motor cylinder head. You can pay a shop to do this for you or purchase a head from a national supplier, but it will likely cost you between $400 and $750. You can do it yourself for as little as $125.

This head come off of a Volvo S70 but should be the same for many heads.
