Biggest Box Office Flops So Far (2023)

Box office flops are a sad reality for the movie studios these days, and 2023 provided little help when it came to movies that didn’t live up to their potential in earnings. Of course, for most of us, the thing that really matters is whether a movie was good or not. But to the studios? Not so much. They are all about the Benjamins, or whatever the nickname for hundreds of millions of dollars is. What’s wild is that several of the movies in this video actually earned a lot of money in 2023. And we mean, like, a LOT of money. But when you factor in how much they cost to make, and then to market, their net profits were pretty slim. And for the movie studios, that’s considered a flop, even if they didn’t actually lose money. And many of these movies actually got solid reviews from critics, and a lot of love from audiences. It’s a strange world, you know? Anyway, in this video, we’re taking a look at a few of the biggest flops of 2023, so far. We look at big franchises like Transformers, Mission: Impossible, and Indiana Jones, to see why the latest iteration of these classic series didn’t fare so well this year. We also look at some non-franchise flicks like a live action version of an animated classic, a gritty war drama, and the attempt by one studio to compete with the behemoth that is Marvel.
