How Gorongosa National Park Brought Wildlife Back After Civil War | SLICE EARTH | FULL DOC

In Mozambique, Gorongosa National Park is coming back to life after a civil war that decimated 95% of its wildlife. Lions, elephants, wild dogs, and other species are returning to an ecosystem rebuilt through anti-poaching, reintroductions, and long-term scientific monitoring. But the park’s recovery does not stop at its wildlife.

More than 200,000 people live around Gorongosa, sharing the same land, water, conflict, and opportunity. From crop-raiding elephants and beehive fences to reforestation, health care, education, and biodiversity research, the film reveals how restoring a park also means rebuilding a shared system.
