Nymölla biogas plant inauguration - Scania - Biogas as fossil free alternative for transport

Gasum and Stora Enso have now innovated a smart way to produce liquefied biogas using the wastewater effluent from Stora Enso’s pulp and paper mill in Nymölla, Sweden.

The biogas plant has started its operation in April 2021 and the produced liquefied biogas can be used as an alternative fuel for traffic, such as gas trucks. Using sustainably produced biogas in transportation helps cutting the emissions up to 90%.

Scania is a Swedish manufacturer of commercial vehicles such as busses and trucks. Their philosophy is to offer fossil-free alternative for different transport solutions.
