Self criticism, how to overcome from the very root up
Do you know what the first step to change is?The first step is accepting our reality as it is right now.Do you know what the root cause of self criticism is?
Because only when we know the root cause of self criticism, we can heal the root together with its symptoms once and for all.
The root cause of our self criticism is feeling unworthy.
But through self criticism we only re-enforce the pattern of feeling unworthy only even more.
When we feel unworthy, we want to run away from that feeling by building a wall around our feelings by becoming stubborn and defensive.
But by building a wall around our feelings, by being stubborn and defensive and by re-enforcing our feelings of unworthiness, could we ever find liberation?
No of course not. So continuing in the same direction of imprisonment, while hoping for liberation is a counter productive direction.
If babies would held the same tendency toward self criticism as adults, they might never learn to crawl, walk or talk. Can you imagine infants yelling, aaah, screwed up again!
Fortunately babies are free of self criticism, they just keep practicing and that is why they are able to grow and develop. If self criticism keeps us from growing and developing and only imprisons us even more, how do we overcome self criticism?
Enjoy the video.
