A bunch of tech billionaires just bought 50,000 acres of land out in Solano County California for a total of $800,000,000. Their plans with this land is to build a brand new community with jobs, housing, schools, restaurants, etc. Named "California Forever" this town will take decades to complete. But at this stage, it's looking pretty likely that they will pull it off.
