KITT short circuits when a power line falls on his hood completely damaging his memory. Micheal goes out to find him after KITT drives away, only to find a new friend.

Michael and KITT become separated after an high power line damages KITT's memory. KITT wanders around aimlessly until a young boy (played by a young Jason Bateman) finds and befriends him. The boy, however, is being pursued by a gang of thieves and KITT tries to protect him.
