Saqqara Necropolis - Pyramid of Djoser

I created this video from my time at Saqqara. This is a huge complex and I hope to have the opportunity to go back one day, there was much to see and we just ran out of time.

Saqqara, also spelled Sakkara or Saccara in English, is an Egyptian village in the markaz of Badrashin in the Giza Governorate, that contains ancient burial grounds of Egyptian royalty, serving as the necropolis for the ancient Egyptian capital, Memphis. You'll find the famous Step Pyramid here, built in the 27th century B.C. by Djoser, the Old Kingdom pharaoh who launched the tradition of constructing pyramids as monumental royal tombs. You'll also find more than a dozen other pyramids that are scattered along the five-mile strip of land, which is also dotted with the remains of temples, tombs and walkways that, together, span the entire history of ancient Egypt. But beneath the ground is far more—a vast and extraordinary netherworld of treasures. I could have spent the day at the location. Explorations and new discoveries are still happening in this location.
