A bone marrow transplant could make 7-year old Kyle healthier than he has ever been, but it's a gamble and the stakes are the highest they could possible be. Being ordinary is an extraordinary achievement for Lyanne: she has pulmonary hypertension, a condition that affects the lungs and puts pressure on the heart; if the disease had been left untreated it would most likely have killed her within 3 years of its onset when she was 13.

"Child in a million" follows the medical teams at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital over eight months, capturing just some of the incredible pioneering treatments which take place there each day. 13 children and their families both at home and in the hospital, as doctors attempt to diagnose their rare, and often, complex conditions and work out how best to treat them using cutting-edge techniques.
