I love that this recipe only includes a few ingredients and is extremely easy to throw together. If you don’t feel like going through the process of shaping pretzels, you could just as easily roll out the dough and cut out shapes.
This easy DIY recipe will put a twist on the way you make homemade dog treats! With only few ingredients, the hardest part of making this DIY dog treat will be twisting the pretzels!
However, if your dog has allergies or restrictions, you can consider using oat flour, chickpea flour, quinoa flour, etc. Just remember when you make small changes that you might need to slightly adjust other ingredients to maintain the right level of moisture to create a perfect kneading dough or cookie dough/batter.

▶️ Pretzels Recipe
▶ Ingredients:
• 1 Egg beaten
• Unsweetened Applesauce 1 Cup
• Gluten free rolled oats ¾ cups
• gluten free oat flour 2 cups
▶ Method and Instructions:
• First, 1 Egg beaten, and unsweetened Applesauce 1 cup mix together.
• Next, shape the pretzels! After the dough rises, turn it out onto a clean, unfloured work surface, and divide it into 8 pieces.
• Now add gluten free oat flour 2 cups with the first mixture.
• Roll one into an 25-inch rope.
• Grab the ends of the dough rope, and bend it into a U-shape.
• Cross one of the ends of the rope over the other, leaving a wide loop of dough below them. Then, wrap the dough ends around each other again to create the pretzel’s twist.
• Finally, fold the twist towards you, into the center of the dough loop, to make a pretzel shape. That’s it! Repeat with the remaining dough.
• When all the soft pretzels are boiled and salted, transfer them to a 350° oven for 25 minutes.
