Distilling Dried Lavender in a Copper Alembic Still

Distilling hydrosol (and potentially essential oils) in a copper alembic still is one of the most traditional and time-honored methods of obtaining essential oil from aromatic plants. I've read that this form of distillation is at least 500 years old! At any rate, come along with me as I distill dried lavender in my 3 liter copper alembic still. I also explain how a copper alembic still works using my 10 liter alembic. NOTE: I'm just starting to learn this ancient process of distilling aromatics for wellness.
