This is a song I wrote in isolation in Canada while reading Untamed by Glennon Doyle. Reading the book, I started thinking about all unlearning I still had yet to do as far as what it means to be a man. I still have trouble feeling and showing my emotions, and I suspect a lot of other men do too. The strong, stoic guy is what society holds up as the ideal 'man.' But it's a tall order to always be 'that guy' - and we shouldn't have to be. So, guys, let down your guard, open up, feel pain, love, shed tears, be YOU - and don't look back.
