Ballet Philippines: Swan Lake

Ballet Philippines’ 47th season comes to a soaring end with the return of the classical ballet war-horse, “Swan Lake”. The country’s premier danseur Nonoy Froilan restaged the production, which is widely regarded as one of the greatest ballets of all time. 2017 marks the 140th anniversary of “Swan Lake”. The Philippine Philharmonic
Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Yoshikazu Fukumura are set to perform the music live during the gala night.

ACT IV
A great storm rages at the lakeside. Upon rushing to the glade, Siegfried finds Odette and begs for her forgiveness. Odette tells the prince that she will forever remain a swan unless she kills herself. Driven by his love for Odette, Siegfried chooses to die with her, consequently destroying von Rothbart's power over the swan maidens. Dawm breaks, and von Rothbart emerges with a triumphant air . The lovers throw themselves into the lake, and von Rothbart is finally defeated.
