How to Not Get Nervous and Stay Calm When You Play Fortnite
You know how it feels when you get nervous.
Your heart rate increases, your hands start to shake, and you can't play at your best.
Getting nervous loses you games.
But your not alone with this problem. Many Fortnite players suffer from nervousness.
I used to get nervous, as well. But now I know how to remain cool and calm in any situation, which allows me to play my best.
In this video, I want to share with you some useful ways to help you remain calm and stop getting nervous when you play Fortnite, so you can play at your best.
1. Reframing your nervousness
Reframing is a technique for changing your view of a negative situation.
The sensations you feel when you get nervous are very similar to that of excitement.
So instead of thinking negatively about your nervous sensations, remind yourself that you're actually feeling the positive energy of excitement.
And this can allow you to perform even better.
2. Get more experience in nervous situations
The reason you feel nervous could be because you don't have enough experience.
Many Fortnite players are scared of getting into fights with other players because it means they could die.
But avoiding situations that make you nervous actually increases rather than increases anxiety.
The solution is to voluntarily expose yourself to situations that make you nervous until you get enough experience that you feel confident and calm.
3. Sit upright and relax
Your body language may shape how you feel.
If you're someone that on the edge of your chair, hunched over, and nervously anticipating what's going to happen next in your game of Fortnite, you can feel nervous.
So lean back into your chair a little bit and relax.
When you sit upright, you're going to be able to breathe better.
4. Take a deep breath
Your breath can provide you with powerful benefits. Breathing is a relaxing and proven stress reliever.
Taking slow deep breaths calms you down and can help to negate your nervous feelings.
The great thing about Fortnite is that you can box up to protect yourself.
So you can take a moment to breathe, relax, and reset.
